We started by representing insurance companies and collaborating in complex cases involving medical malpractice, torts, and insurance claims, including the notable the Dupont Plaza fire case, a significant federal litigation involving over 2,000 claimants and 200 defendants. We continue to represent insurance companies in tort/employment-related claims.
Our practice broadened into labor and employment law in 1990, where to this day we provide comprehensive guidance and representation to employers and HR professionals in various areas, including wage and hour disputes, equal employment opportunity cases, discrimination claims, disability matters, and retaliation issues. Additionally, we actively engage in negotiations and advocacy before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), handle labor arbitration proceedings, and facilitate numerous collective bargaining negotiations.
Over the past two decades, we have further diversified our expertise to encompass corporate and commercial law. We have been instrumental in assisting small and medium-sized businesses in structuring and governance matters, catering to both for-profit and non-profit organizations for over 25 years. About RA Fleming
Before embarking on his legal career in Puerto Rico, Fleming earned a BA in Politics and International Relations from Georgetown University, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from Inter-American University. His commitment to learning led him to complete an MBA at Indiana University-Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business. Expanding his legal expertise, he pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on commercial and corporate law from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, followed by postgraduate studies in international corporate and commercial law. Fleming further honed his skills by acquiring a Certificate in Strategic Human Resources from Cornell University. His extensive knowledge is underscored by published cases, numerous publications, including peer-reviewed articles authored by him.
Fleming has also collaborated extensively on various business-related matters. actively participated in numerous organizations, assuming diverse roles that encompassed the development of business models, strategic planning, execution, structural design, operational management, budget oversight, and legal strategies. His contributions extended to serving as a startup-founder on services firms and internal legal advisor and board member on diverse organizations.
