El 26 de marzo de 2012, la legislatura de Puerto Rico aprobó la ley 60-2012 para enmendar la ley 214-1995 “Ley para Reglamentar el Negocio de Intermediación Financiera”, para reinstalar en la misma el requisito de presentar una fianza junto con la solicitud de licencia ante la Oficina del Comisionado de Instituciones Financieras.
